Note: This is 100% not official. It’s my speculation with some influence from the forum thread. I’m against sword and warhorn, but that leaves too few combos/skills. I wish there was another two-handed weapon that makes sense for a caster.
The only thing I absolutely desperately want to see is the Scepter/Scepter combo.

I honestly hope the mesmer can use a pistol. it would be a deciding factor for me.

to me i always imagined mesmer with a sword. but not in a way that mesmer is actually a melee char. the way i see it is that according to the weapon mesmer could make illusions or its main hand weapon. lets say its rapier sword, mesmer could make a spell to use the sword as a wand for dmg maybe.
the other option i tought was off hand mirror or fan(obviously). i have butterfly mirror as an off hand on my mesmer in gw1 and it loooks amazing. besides mirror and torch could make an amazing smoke mirror play :P which can actually be a machanic combo for mesmer as first skill you mess with sensation and then second skill you mess with perception and then final combo which is total domination.
